Eugene Atget

For this assignment, we researched a photographer and took pictures like he did. I chose Eugene Atget. My goals were to take straight-on photos on staircases and doors. I also wanted to take photos of walls from an angle. I edited most of them to be black and white, like he did.

  1. Nice photos Grace! You really reached your goal of taking photos of staircases and doors well. I like all the different railings and kinds of staircases. Maybe for the next set, you could think about adding even more variety to the kinds of doors, staircases, etc. to add more uniqueness. Also try to make sure your photos are taken straight and aren't crooked. Good job overall and keep up the great work!

  2. Nice work! I really like your set of doors and staircases, they go together well. I like the different angles and choices of staircases you used. Maybe next time I would keep all of the photos in black and white just to be consistent, if thats what Eugene Atget did. Also, just watch the framing of the images, but keep up the good work!

  3. Great photos Grace! I think you captured your goal pretty well. I think you should focus on the idea of taking the photo of a side of a building or structure, creating depth in the photo. Eugene Atget did that in many of his photos, so maybe that might be something you want to continue to work on. Some of your photos are too head on, and kind of flat. It would be cool if you took the pictures f the same place, but maybe at different angles. Great work!

  4. good job grace! even though i like a lot of your pictures, there are some that confuse me. i think some of the pictures would be better if you chose all black and white or all color. Also some of your photos are flat and boring. there are some really strong ones in there, just try not to post as many next time. good job!

  5. Great work this week, Grace! I think that you did a really good job with these pictures, but some of them could be a lot more eye-catching if you adjusted the contrast level. Good work overall!
